Laurie McCarthy

An avid equestrian, wife, and mother of two, Laurie McCarthy received her undergraduate early childhood degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and master’s degree in critical literacy from Carroll University. For the past fifteen years, she has worked as a multiage first- and second or second- and third-grade teacher in the Muskego-Norway School District. In 2018, Laurie was recognized in her district, receiving the Compass Award for her positive impact on students, staff, parents, and community; her commitment to continuous improvement; her leadership and service; as well as for being a champion for innovation, creativity, and best practices.

Laurie and her family currently reside in Eagle, Wisconsin. In addition to spending time with her family, cheering on her son’s hockey team, and watching her young fashionista daughter grow into quite the equestrian herself, Laurie can be found at the barn riding and caring for her horses.
